American White Pelican
Pelecanus erythrorhynchos
Immense, always white with black flight feathers and pinkish
or yellow-orange bill. All are fish-eating waterbirds with four toes joined by
webbing.
Voice: Generally silent away from breeding grounds. At nest,
utters quiet, low grunting or croaking sounds. Young give whining grunt or
weak, sneezy bark.
